Ballard is one of the Santa Ynez Valley’s gems, as its oldest township and home to “the little red schoolhouse”, which has been in continuous operation since 1881. It is also home to the wonderfully charming Ballard Inn, which has one of the greatest of Santa Ynez Valley restaurants, and offers wine tasting and a great big porch on which enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles in the evening.
Just listed, 2538 Garden Street, at $499,000. This is a very typical Ballard cottage-style home on slightly less that 1/3 acre. It is 3 bedroom and very charming. When buying a home in Ballard, you are getting much more than the property, as this has shades of Mayberry…the best of small town living. This is a short sale, and I don’t think it will last long.
