The bounty was awesome at yesterday’s Farmers Market in downtown Solvang. This is the largest Farmers Market in the Santa Ynez Valley and is held on Wednesdays 3-7 PM. The leeks, cippolini onions and remaining heirloom tomatoes made me think that it was time for some winter fare…a great daube or stew or steak with braised leeks/cippolini.
But the star this week were the mounds of gorgeous grapes of many varieties. Great desert with some lovely cheeses. All and all, I called some friends and invited them for dinner next Friday..the menu will be great with a fine Harrison Clark Syrah or Grenache.
Ah the Santa Ynez Valley lifestyle is perfect.
Any ideas for my dinner would be appreciated…
