I got to thinking last Friday about the crowds jamming into stores to buy some deeply discounted toy, appliance or whatnot and what this says about the American state of mind when it comes to shopping. The one thing I know is that the perception of “a bargain” is essential to today’s shopper, whether or not the bargain price is needed for the shopper to be able to buy the item. It also occurred to me that shopping continues to be entertaining if not outright sport. And then there was the woman who opened fire with pepper spray to get at some “bargain”.
While certainly not in the same league, I have seen some similarity among real estate buyers…or should I say shoppers. It seems today that we are seeing more shoppers than buyers…and in the end, for those shoppers to become buyers they need “the deal”.
In that spirit, I have reviewed the Santa Ynez Valley real estate inventory and identified 9 improved properties that have been discounted at least 25% from their original offer price…..so get ready, set…here they are:
341 Fairway was $789,000 now $374,000
730 Elsinore was $1,199,000 now $850,000
1444 N Refugio was $1,595,000 now $1,085,000
3185 E Hwy 246 was $1,498,000 now $1,098,000
1111 Oak Glen Rd was $1,995,000 now $1,495,000
1080 Viendra was $2,200,000 now $1,500,000
3385 Baseline Avenue was $2,749,000 now $1,795,000
2951 Caballo Rd was $2,995,000 now $1,999,999
120 Meadowlark was $5,750,000 now $3,960,000
So that’s it for Black REal Friday in the Santa Ynez Valley….where are you??? I suppose that the prevailing question is when is a bargain a bargain??? What are your thoughts on this questions?
Cheers!
