The Santa Ynez Valley Jewish Community, which was organized over 40 years ago, will be holding a Passover Seder on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at St.Marks Episcopal Church in Los Olivos.
This annual event, generally on the night of the second Seder, includes a traditional Seder meal and a participatory service. Rabbi Pearl Barlev will be leading the service. I don’t know who is doing the catering this year, but in the past, food was “imported” from Juniors in Los Angeles.
While all of the Santa Ynez Valley Churches offer Easter Services, the biggest gathering this year will be the Ranch Church’s Easter Service: Love Well, at the Solvang Festival Theater at 9:00 AM on April 8, 2012. Pastor Rick Soto will be leading this year’s program. This is the 5th year of this incredible community Service, “Easter in the Valley” attended by 700 people. There is a separate celebration for children ages 2 through 6th grade.
Easter Brunch: Some Great Options
While I am certain that many of our great restaurants are serving up Easter brunch, here are some very good options. Personally, my husband and I head to the one at the beautiful Alisal Ranch.
With my best wishes…Doris
