Even at today’s deeply discounted prices on ranches, ranchettes, vineyards and properties of 5 acres or more, for many Buyers, the Santa Ynez Valley real estate is out of reach. Nonetheless the desire for these kinds of properties is palpable among our visitors. The right combination of price and property may be a mere 10 miles down the road, in the corridor between the Santa Ynez Valley and the city of Lompoc.
Going west, the prices fall fairly dramatically, while, for some, the weather and soil are more appealing for vineyards and horses. In fact this corridor includes the trendy Sta. Rita AVA, a prized viticulture area for Pinot Noir and Chardonney. Guess the soil that produces $100.00 bottles of wine can’t be too bad!
