Tess..our beautiful girl
Doris is ranked among the most prominent Brokers in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley and is a Broker Associate with Sotheby’s International Realty in Los Olivos, CA.
In 1989, she and her husband, Dr. John H. Moxley III, bought their 20 acre view property, and made the gradual transition from weekends to full-time over the next 6 years. Doris managed her emerging companies consulting practice from the Santa Ynez Valley until 2000, when she followed her dream into real estate. Over the past 12 years she has sold untold properties, each with a custom strategy and extensive knowledge of this real estate market.
Doris represents both Buyers and Sellers of a full range of properties, from land to town-homes to estates, ranches and farms, in Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, Solvang, Ballard, Buellton, Los Alamos and other parts of Santa Barbara and the Central Coast.
While not exclusive, Doris is a specialist in second/vacation and retirement real estate in the Santa Ynez Valley. As such, she frequently works with her clients over a number of years, looking for a perfect match for their dreams and budget. While each client’s desires are different, the long-term perspective of these clients has led Doris to identify and catalog properties that clients can “grow into” as they move from weekend to full-time residents. In other words, properties that will allow for a gradual investment. Having done this herself and worked with many similar clients, she knows exactly what is needed before, during and after the purchase. This is a different type of Realtor relationship; many clients have become friends in the process.
Doris uses a similar approach with first time and early stage real estate buyers, looking at each purchase as part of a long-term plan.
Doris was elected to serve on the Board of the Santa Ynez Valley Association of Realtors from 2003-2009, having been its President in 2008. She was also a member of the MLS Executive Committee 2003-2007, and Chairperson of same in 2007.
In looking back at her real estate career, Doris remarked “I am amazed at the life changing effect real estate can have for my clients…the ability to fulfill the dream, to recreate the farm from childhood, to work with the soil or ride horses on thousands of acres, to sit back and experience peace and to call this exceptional place “home”.
