Transitional Properties: A Popular Second Home Choice

Many second home/vacation home Buyers are looking to buy a property today that will become a more permanent residence in the future. While the specific property qualifications and budgets vary widely, one common theme is privacy, space and room for expansion. I refer to these properties astransitional“,  in which  the initial investment includes a great piece of land with limited improvements, only those necessary to enjoy the property in the near term. The land however, needs to accommodate the long-term plan, which might include a larger home, guest house, pool, barns, cattle, agriculture etc. Transitional properties are limited, but make great economic sense for those Buyers planning on growing into their Santa Ynez lives.

Some second home Buyers have the time and patience for “project properties, which are those needing a significant amount of work, often immediately.
